How about living in a South Pacific country with no caches, except for one virtual out on a reef which is still a couple of hundred km away.

Haven't cached since May....not that I'm an addict....I could stop anytime I wanted to.......LEAVE ME ALONE

 :D

The whole thing about my wife insisting I spend at least *some* of my spare time with our children

Plus work, taking the kids to their saturday sports, work, cooking meals, minding the kids while my wife goes out, ironing, damn I'm too tired now. :(

Oh, and being a one car family (and very unfit) means caching is restricted by other transport needs. I get out on my bike occasionally but fitness limits my range, and there aren't many unfound caches within riding distance of home any more :)

My nearest unfound is just over 40km away as the crow flies, however it is closer to 60km to drive then a 6 km walk through a restricted zone! (I am trying to convince a friend with a helicopter to help me with this one)! The next nearest is 50km as the crow flies and another walk, then it jumps out to nearly 60km and a 5 star terrain rating, I've scouted out the location of this, can even see it but have yet to find anyone to lend me the needed equipment to access this cache (GC11AZ7) - any volunteers? But what I really lack is TIME!

At the moment I am on call 24/7 until after Christmas. I just hope that work drags me to somewhere different and I can maybe find a few caches along the way. Its my own fault, maybe I need to hide a few more to attract new local players, who then may hide some for me!

I have no real excuse, but in reality, a lot of the things I kind of neglected over the past few years are starting to catch up with me...

WHY did I buy a house with a largish yard and garden????

And who are these small people in my house who call me 'Dad'??...

60km or so of sea between us and our nearest unfound  Plus a general decline in our interest in the hobby of geocaching :?

Not having enough room to park my truck or finding a drive by I can do and having the RTA or QLD Transport using that parking area for spot inspections :( I'm sure they'd love it if I said you can't see my log book I just have to run over to that rock and sign it's log book :D :D

I like to take the reluctant spouse because he is happy to drive and his petrol is company provided :D . He plays bowls on Saturday so that leaves Sunday and sometimes I'm expected to be other places :( .

During the week I can sometimes escape duty to cache, but now that my car's met with a sad fate, I'm stuck for a while.

Weather stopped me yesterday - less fun bush bashing in the rain. Today really had to mow the lawn before I needed to hire a slasher so wasted a couple of hours of valuable caching time. And for once I can't blame work - as they send me to different places all over Sydney at times, it is a chance to get different caches either during a lunch break or an early finish!

gee let me think:
1. kids dont like micros
2. ran out of caches in 100ks radius
3. child with issues doesnt like leaving town
4. fuel costs where getting silly until we got a LPG 4x4
5. buggered knee
6. caching in the toilet/rubbish dump. Think about where your gunna hide them

the only time I get is a weekend, and I live within walking distance to work, and while I have a car, it is in Tassie, I am working in Qld...occaisionly I get to borrow one, but the unlisensed owner generally tags along, and we do silly things like foodshopping, etc, so at present, my biggest issue is transport. Anyone in mackay want to team up?

Nobody else wants to play in the area we live :( :( :(

Seems like the story of our geocaching life for the past 4 years - but we still keep hiding 'em in the hope that one day.... will eventually come :D
