First Finder's Trophy

Post by Danielc » 30 July 07 5:51 pm

Hi.
I am relatively new to this sport, and have just started hiding caches. 5 so far. I was thinking of making "First Finder's trophies" to add to my caches. Are there any guidelines, protocols, no-nos, etc that I should be aware of in this activity. What I had in mind was a small rectangle of timber or plastic with the name of the cache, My user name, a title of "First Finder's Trophy, and a photo from the cache site. The details would be generated on computer, printed out, stuck to the backing, and covered with a clear resin.
Thanks,
Danielc

this is a great idea,we usually drop a geo pin for ftf, after all they are checking how good our co ords are,and if we are care ful they have no geo trail to follow.not aware of rules.
good luck and enjoy

There are no rules what so ever, your idea sounds just great, everyone who does them have different ideas.
So go with yours.

We have done scratchies as FTF as they fit in the log book. Did try making ftf stubby holders with the iron on inkjet transfers, but that was a dismal fairlure obiously

hey your from BC! I was introduced to geocaching there :)
ok think of a Corona or Sols. in a glass bottle.
We would call ANY beer in a glass bottle a stubby (close enough)

a stubby holders is (usually) a neoprene/wetsuit material thing which slips over the bottle to keep it cool, something which is somewhat useless in canada :)

:D

We haven't used the term stubby for beer bottles here since the 80's, mostly because the short stubby beer bottles are either out of production, or for kit brewing. Everything is long necked now.

I have a great bottle holder, even can be hung on a belt! (And has Canadian emblazoned across it)

'Long neck' does that mean you've been hanging a stubby from your belt for tooooo long  Ours don't last long enough to stretch
