Had my first caching "accident" the other week. <br>
Wandering down by the Torrens to reset a cache, at 9:30 at night, I found that the slope next to the hide was rather slippery and once I'd started slipping couldn't stop until I'd splashed down in the Torrens and a metre away from the bank.<br>
Surprisingly deep too - as I thought I would've stopped with just my legs getting wet - but thankfully I kept my head above water (plenty of polluted water signs about the place).<br>
Wandered how I'd get out of this predicament, given the slippery slope and a long swim wearing a heavy jacket to any other access point, but I managed to pull myself out onto the bank.<br>
Then had to drive home, so stripped down in the street to my underwear and drove home sitting on a plastic bag. At home the wife was aghast when she opened the door to me in my underwear.<br>
Took a few days to dry out the jacket, jeans, shirt, shoes, wallet, but the iPod is not happy (even though she was immediately after). Thankfully I didn't have the GPSr in hand, as we headed on holidays the next day and no caching would have been disappointing. <br>
Must admit I had nightmares about the slip that night. <br>

I can remember caching for 24hrs and getting rather wet

If the photo comp #3 is ever put up you can see how wet I got for a cache for the RDMH competition. That was planned though (I had a wetsuit on under my clothes in anticipation).

While getting a couple of caches for last year's competition I ended up soaked to the bone despite wearing my raincoat in driving, relentless rain. The main problem with that though was that I was trying to phone a friend for a hint and the rain caused my phone to temporarily stop working.

I stayed dry, but my phone took a swim once while jumping across a creek, and my phone flew out of my bag and into the water. My brother was able re-solder some stuff and keep it working but it never was the same again

only a few occasional wet feet ..
find bridge or attempt a creek crossing..
the challenge is too strong sometimes, especially if you get within a meter of the other side..

Does sinking a boat whilst attempting an island cache count as getting wet?

Well got stuck half way up a water course in Hong Kong as it started to pour with rain. The path back down was impossible after a couple of minutes of rain. So ended up having to keep climbing for 15 mins and then run back down the other side (another 15 mins). In the end was completely soaked.

If we list caching accients, I currently have 2 cracked ribs from caching. Was running back along a track from a cache, hit a moss covered bridge slipped and ended up with 2 cracked ribs, bruised hip and large cut next to my nose. Of course you would think I would have learnt from Luck Dog loosing the back end and slipping off the same bridge on the way in!

<p>I think the dampest (and coldest) caching experience was having to remove my trouse to wade across a frigid creek in June to find Derringer's Wet'n'Wild </p>

Will I never learn

The Hunt for Blue October was hidden 4-6 metres underwater and I found it (well george found it but I was with him) does that count?

In case you were wondering we took turns duck-diving for it...
