I think I have the bug.....
I think I have the bug.....
I have just got into this geocaching, and did/found my first one on saturday successfully!
Got home from work tonight after a long day in the office, decided to load a couple more from the geocaching.com site onto the gps.
One of them was fairly close.
A quick look on ozi explorer and I roughly knew where the area was, at a funa park reserve thingie....
Now its 9pm, drizzling rain, dark, but with a full moon out, and I think... why not!
So off I go by myself wandering off into the darkness with my trusty Etrex Legend in one hand and a dodgy torch with half flat batteries in the other!
Found it pretty easy enough! Even with the lack of light to find the cache
So yeah... I think I may have the bug now

I realised that I had the bug bad when I found myself a few metres up a tree in the dark with my hand next to a HUGE spider and thought.......mmmmmmm.......... maybe this isn't normal behaviour for a woman in her late 30's. Oh well, It's all good! Welcome Luxy there's plenty of obsessed ones out there. You're in good company!
Nope, thats not me Bunya, Im a Geocaching virgin
Well, till the weekend just gone anyway when I snagged my first cache!
Luxy76 is my profile over there.
Richary, that was on the French Line, Simpson Desert, a couple of years ago. It was a awesome trip!
Going back again this year, but travelling to Googs Track first in SA on the way up.
So I will hopefully get to find a few more caches along the way for my new found hobby!

Haven't got around to the Simpson (yet) but would love to do it. Might need to carry a bit of spare fuel though! We tried to do Googs Track a few years ago but only got part way before an alternator blew on a Patrol and we had to return to Ceduna.
I did go up the Strezlecki 2 years ago and back down the Bore Track which was a fantastic trip.
Now I'm getting inspired to take some time off and do something again!Luxy wrote:Richary, that was on the French Line, Simpson Desert, a couple of years ago.
