I think I have the bug.....

Post by Luxy » 02 July 07 11:44 pm

I have just got into this geocaching, and did/found my first one on saturday successfully! :D

Got home from work tonight after a long day in the office, decided to load a couple more from the geocaching.com site onto the gps.
One of them was fairly close.
A quick look on ozi explorer and I roughly knew where the area was, at a funa park reserve thingie....
Now its 9pm, drizzling rain, dark, but with a full moon out, and I think... why not!

So off I go by myself wandering off into the darkness with my trusty Etrex Legend in one hand and a dodgy torch with half flat batteries in the other!

Found it pretty easy enough! Even with the lack of light to find the cache :)

So yeah... I think I may have the bug now 8)

Excellent work Luxy. Its pretty easy to get hooked. I've only got about 80 finds and find it hard to not go out at odd hours of the day/night. Good luck with plenty more finds to come.

Welcome Luxy there's plenty of obsessed ones out there. You're in good company! :P

Welcome Luxy! :)

But are you a doppelganger/re-incarnation?

Your posting links to a GC profile for "luxy" (lower case l) who found three and hid two caches in 2002 in the US and hasn't been seen since. :?

Luxy76 is my profile over there.

Richary, that was on the French Line, Simpson Desert, a couple of years ago. It was a awesome trip! 8)
Going back again this year, but travelling to Googs Track first in SA on the way up.
So I will hopefully get to find a few more caches along the way for my new found hobby! :)

Haven't got around to the Simpson (yet) but would love to do it. Might need to carry a bit of spare fuel though! We tried to do Googs Track a few years ago but only got part way before an alternator blew on a Patrol and we had to return to Ceduna.
I did go up the Strezlecki 2 years ago and back down the Bore Track which was a fantastic trip.
Now I'm getting inspired to take some time off and do something again!
