GeoCaching Names - How did people come up with them

Post by luckdogscrew » 13 June 07 10:45 am

Seeing our name has caused some interesting comments recently I thought it would be interesting to find out about some of the more interesting GeoCaching Names.

Our name is LuckDogsCrew on geocaching.com. But we forgot the capitals on geocaching.com.au and hence a few people read is as luck dog screw

The reason behind it was that we only got into geocahing as an excuse to walk our dog in differnt places around melbourne, Her actual name is Lucky but my nephew calls her Luck Dog as lucky is too hard to say for him. And seeing we were introduced to geocaching by my sister when she visited from SA we were used to calling lucky, luck dog at the time.

Any other interesting names, reasons?

PS - You should be able to add capitals to your username through your profile on GCA as far as I am aware?

I think asking an admin is the only way to do it.

Google delivers. :)

"Seppuku (also referred to as hara-kiri), has along history in japan, and was a privilege reserved by law for the samurai.
Seppuku to avoid the disgrace of capture is called setsujoku. Another form as junshi, which was suicide as a mark of respect for one's lord. Kanshi is suicide to protest the action of a superior, and ji-jin is seppuku as a form of punishment." :?

Just prior to starting geocaching, we were travelling in Italy and were told that "andiamo" was Italian for "let's go". Andiamo was also what our little trimaran was previously named so we registered on GCA - "let's go" geocaching sounded good.

When it came to registering on GC, "andiamo" was already taken so we registered on that site using the current name for our trimaran - Just a Trifle.

It's my name. :D

Been using it on Ham Radio, BBS's and then the internet since the late 80's. I answer to it, and I still can't quite grok being called by my real name by people who met me as Dvixen first.
