well thanks to the info in this thread, it looks like i can finally convert over to firefox, and hopefully escape IE

The only thing that was really stopping me from converting was firefox's compatability with our sharepoint web site, but thanks to Dooghan suggesting IETab i can now tick that one off the list.

Now all i need to do is export my RSS feeds from IE, and into firefox, which looks like it will take about 3 seconds

Im sure ill come up with more questions later, but looking good so far

oh yeah, and the only other stopping point i found was firefox's inability to open PDF's within itself, but a install of PDF download fixed that one

edit: what do people use for RSS feeds?

Those RSS readers all come from recommendations here, so any of those is probably OK.

I used to use greasemonkey, but I don't anymore. As a website developer and owner, I prefer you not to be scraping stuff off my site using a scripting tool so I extend the same courtesy.

I have never been able to understand or use RSS. Tried following how to's and other instructions but can't really be bothered. Got the impression it's just a way to subscribe to more junk mail.

I find this one nice and handy:
http://forum.geocaching.com.au/rss/forum.rss

i try to limit the number of RSS feeds that i subscribe to, otherwise you spend more time going through them, than reading your e-mail.

But the incredibly great thing is that it has a spell checker!!!! That won't stop you putting "there", "they're" and "their" [-X , "your" and "you're" (sorry Big Matt and Shell  ) [-X , "choose" and "chose" (ugghhh, fingernails down a blackboard on that one :-&) [-X , "its", "it's" and, dare I say it, "its' " [-X, i and I [-X (most of the previous of which (other than "its' " and "i") are real words) etc. but God damn it, it's a start :D !!!

Please, please, please use it everyone, if not just for the spell checker [-o<.

(Yes, it will check your log entry AND your cache submission, so at least the spelling will be correct if not the actual grammar!!! (Typos are underlined in red, just like Microsoft does folks.))

And you can just right-click an underlined word and select the correction! =D>
Plus you can add cromulent words like geocache and TFTC to embiggen the dictionary. :D

And for the Greasemonkey scripts that Lil Devil doesn't do there's always Locus Prime
