To make it even EASIER to send in audio, I now have a SkypeIn phone number.
You can use it to call in an FTF, milestone, or as part of our soon to be released 'Open Mike'.
The number is (02) 800 50 GEO or (02) 800 50 436.
Feel free to test it out. I'll be announcing it on the next podcast this weekend.

Drat! It was a wrong number, someone asking for Mix and blabbing on about his mother.
Strange.

Just a note to say that after two months I have only had two calls to the number - one of which I could use on GeoTalk. The number has been set up as a trial for three months (as it costs money). At this stage, I'm very likely to let it lapse.
What do others think?

I think if you promote it they will come.
If they don't - Cut It!
BTW - That one call that you did get and use must have made it all worthwhile so far
Keep up the good SDB. We all appreciate and enjoy the spoils of your your efforts.

Unfortunately, people don't do that either. The phone number is an easy way for people to record something using just their phone. Either way, I think people are too shy. It's a pity as I would love the content to keep the podcast running. It's hard generating it all myself (and with Mix).

Rogainer - thanks for the audio. It was great and I've included it in Episode 17.
Any future ones might like to finish off the call with "...and you're listening to GeoTalk". That would ensure you appear at the start of the podcast - and would sound pretty cool.

Thanks mtrax. Got it on the laptop. I think I'll extend the phone number for another three months.

I wonder if there is another option which you can use for free?
eg some sort of online audio dump ie some s/w that people can record "online" using something like Yak Pack but saves to mp3 etc..
