If you follow it you will arrive at the same place. Its been left for those who didn't read the announcement.
I also put this in the wiki at http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Stars. Riblit, I copied your table defining all the stars, hope that's OK.

To update, visit your 'my' page at http://geocaching.com.au/my/ , scroll down to "My Profile" and click "My Forum Stars". Your stars will be updated based on your logs here.
When I click on the "My Forum Stars" link, I get a page saying I'm not logged in and need to be logged in to continue. When I click on the "Log in" link on this page, it says I'm logged in, and gives me a "Continue what I was doing" link. When I click on that, it takes me to a page that says I'm not logged in and need to be logged in to continue....

Obviously there's a trick to this that I'm not getting :?

Clear your temporary internet files from your brower, close it then open it again and log back in.

works for 99.9% of these login issues with GCA (should only need to do it once)

*sigh* I must be part of that special 0.1% of the population. Tried clearing my cache and trying again, same result. So I switched to IE, cleared the cache and tried again, same result.

Oh well, the stars I have are adequate...

What browser were you originally using?

Firefox v1.5

I've been using it as my default browser for many months, without any problems.

Try upgrading to 2.0.0.4 - It may not help with the login or not question but it has some interesting new features like spell check in places like this.

an other question on this sort of subject - how do I update "my Stats" banner it shows none found/hidden - TY in advance Team GraMon
Your stats banner at GCA is only for your GCA hides and finds. You have none, so you get none :-)
So... I went to update our existing stars (550) to our new stars and it too says we have no finds/hides...but we got it up to upload previously to our then count of 550.

Suggestion?

Many thanks.

Your cache name was malformed.

I'll fix it and you should be right to try again.

I'm having trouble as well. When I try to update my stars, it tells me that My finds count is zero, and when I tried the fix you told some one else, I got "Scubacrazy666" in not a known cacher? Any help would be appreciated.

Your forum name is scubacrazy666 but your cacher name is Scubacrazy666. Not the same thing...

You forum profile links here: http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/scubacrazy666
whereas your finds are here: http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/Scubacrazy666

Easy to change your cacher name, not sure how to change the forum name? I'm sure one of our clever coders can fix it for you in a jiffy though.

Surely the "correct" case would be SCUBAcrazy666! :P

As Damo. has indicated, your forum name and cacher name are not the same. Case is important.

You should be able to change your cacher name here:
http://geocaching.com.au/my/cachername/

Your forum name will remain the same.

Use the cacher name that you have on GC.com (case sensitive).

Then you should be able to update your forum stars.

Ive tried the self serve stars update a few times recently but it doesn't tick over to the 350+, it's stuck on the 300+. I double checked the stats and it shows me at 373. The login name and forum username appear to be the same @ BigON.
Pass the Mortein, I think I've found a bug. 8-)
