Regrettably no, the name of the gorge does not appear in the cache name and I don't know whether a gorge is navigable as a waterway, so that might be an issue too.tronador wrote:hi
For requirement no. 2 River Deep. Is gorge acceptable as in The Gorge?

Trying to finish the requirements during Sydney's wildest weather and flooding in 43 years has been rather interesting and a challenge in itself.
How about requirement no. 36 Cache in a storm.- wait for the worst weather on record, drive in atrocious road conditions to an access point, risk life and limb to get to GZ and hope the the cache has not been washed away.

Does that mean I can now use 17 Water cache, log a find on just about any cache, as most caches will see me approach on foot with a (good)??? chance of getting wet. Try a certainty! Most caches now have a mandatory fording across some sort of raging torrent. see my notes on GC11EE7 and GCM1JT. Good for a bit of a laugh!!!!caughtatwork wrote:There's one with a greater than 80% chance of getting wet. It doesn't actually apply to rain, but hey, good to see you getting into the spirit.
If I return with my surfboard will this count

And to think I wasted my wet days inside playing on the playstation, when I could have been out risking life and limb to find a hunk of plastic in the pouring rain........caughtatwork wrote:There's one with a greater than 80% chance of getting wet. DAMN!!!!!!!
Re: thanks!
I'll second the thanks. The game is interesting and well run. We had a somewhat similar contest in Oregon last year that involved visiting the highest-rated (difficulty plus terrain) caches in all 36 counties and it was a bit rough compared to this smooth-running operation. Good job! Now, I have 4 more caches to find.McPhan wrote:I may have posted my last requirement for this game (depending on interpretation) and would like to take the time to thank all those responsible for putting this together.
Of course I wasted way too much time planning, but hey, it's caching and it's all good.
Thanks guys (and gals), I had a ball.

Just wondering how "ineligible" players will affect the final placements
eg I don't complete 20 requirements
I am in 38th position on the posted ladder
There are 3 ineligible cachers ahead of me on the ladder.
Am I deemed to have finished in 38th or 35th for the purpose of the comp?
Geocaching - It's not about the numbers.
RDMH - It's not about the prizes

What number is next to your name?
Game players who are marked Ineligible are family members of the games administrators and who are playing for fun. Their positions on the ladder do not affect any prize positionings.
eg.
1 Derringer
2 PIRATE63
3 McPhan
4 womblywoo
Ineligible GabGab
5 Robmc
So Robmc would finish in 5th place, even though GabGab finished ahead. GabGab doesn't get a finishing position and as such doesn't affect the prize positions.

Requirement 2 River Deep
Sorry if someone has already asked this question but do the words falls, fallen or fell refering to water falls qualify for requirement 2 River Deep?
Thanks Sog.
Thanks Sog.
