How high is high?
How deep is deep?
Those are the questions.

Last year I was new to caching and was able to split my time between two countries and picked up all the high value caches in both places. This year I'll have to try a LOT harder.

Tactics played a huge part last year and even if you don't compete it's fun to watch how the games play out. Roll om May!

we're going to have a crack at this.. sounds like a heap of fun!

Do the requirements come out before 1'st of May or is it all released on the 1'st of may?

Requirements come out 1st May at 00:00:01

It's not a race, so there's little benefit in knowing a few days beforehand.

It also means we can continue to refine requirements until the game opens based on feedback through the forum and in private.

We will hopefully not need as many clarifications as we did last year.

Keep in mind the theme of the game and you should be able to pre-empt a lot of the requirements, though there will still be some that will be a challenge.

No problem, thanks.

I guess there is some benefit in knowing before hand, as the time can be devoted to research/strategy prior to the event. We are on pretty tight schedules given work and social commitments, leaving not much time for caching :)

But, release of requirements on 1'st of may is fine, it was more a question out of curiousity :)

If you're thinking of playing, then it's probably not a great idea to knock over every cache within 200km of home in the next three weeks...

cache selection shouldn't be a problem for us, we've only been at this game for a couple of months now, with 45 finds. so should be plenty to select from. I sure some of these requirements will be the excuse I'm looking for to go hiking :)

Then during May / June you might want to move to Tasmania.

Strategy has already started :D :D

Several high value, high country caches we were going to find this easter are now on hold until may

Like last years comp, it appears that cachers with high find counts will need to do ALOT of travelling to get high points.

Looking forward to the adventure :D :D :D

Hmm new to this side of geocaching so just wondering do they have to be in Australia? I'm going to New Zealand in June and I'm sure there are some Mountain high opportunities there! (Well they tell me they have mountains, I'm yet to see them as both times I've been there I've only seen clouds!)

Not by a long shot.

We are not actively encouraging overseas participants, but anyone from anywhere can to join in and your claims can be made against any cache on GC or GCA, anywhere in the world.
