Anyone got the panairama aerial photos cd? (SA)

it listed here, about $50, seems reasonable. Im most interested in the coast from the Adelaide port northwards. Has anyone got this cd, whats the user interface like? Can you see roads easy enough? Is there something else like this avalable but from a satellite?

Yes I have it, not highly recommended though. I wouldnt pay the cash again. Way too confusing for general use but occasionally useful for odd urban cache locations.

We have it as well, the new topomap 1:250 k scale for oziexplorer also comes with all of aust in sat mosaics as well now.

Go see Alex at cartographics, he stocks them all.

We have the Panairama CDs at Carto Graphics. They are regional coverage and $49.50 each CD. There are two CDs over the Adelaide region, one at a nominal 1:40,000 scale covers about Clare down. The other is more detailed, 1:20,000, but only covers from the Barossa to Fleurieu, you can make out individual houses (just) on that scale. They are not great sellers so I probably won't replace when (if???) I ever sell them. -hint; I'm probably open to a bit of haggling on these.

P.S. They don't work on XP!!!

None that I know of, but it could be done. There are many individual images per CD, so you would need a separate .map file for each image. Also, the photos are not geo-rectified so there may well be some (minor) distortion in them.

I have the Collie /Busselton ver for WA and it dosnt work with XP either. However after some playing around I can get the images of the disk. You have to decode to run number and convert t to a image number. Geocachers shouldnt have aprob with this.
