We've managed 22609.71 miles (36386.8 kilometres) in 348 days of caching, all based in Oz.

Might have to start another thread"car based caching travel" then planes, trains and automobiles get a few different numbers on the boil.

a cache in pt lincoln is only 230 kms direct line for me, so the 600 km's it takes to travel ther, arent really shown, though the caches that i do along the way do help to keep the total more realistic

14581.95 miles (23467.38 kilometres)

About 2,800km was a one day trip over 4 states starting with a Perth cache at 5am WST and finishing with a cache just outside Hay at midnight WST the same day. That trip included a Zytheryn Puzzle cache FTF.

Doesn't matter how many drivers, he was still flying to do 2800 kms in 19 hours equates to 147.3km/h not allowing for time to cache and refuel the vehicle let alone slowing down to travel through towns etc.

Fascinating! 135943.7 miles (218780.17 kilometres). Some is air travel, but it's still a lot of fuel.

How can I be over a million kilometers if the majesty's of the game are only at 1/4 million?

Approximate cache-to-cache distance: 630,033.69 miles (1,013,940.93 kilometres)

I might have to whack up a new file and see what the deal is.

Is this a stat that people are generally interested in? I can add it to the statistics here for the next release if you like. Comments?

Already have my vote of, oh yeah. Add km caching per day and approximate cost per cache at today's petrol prices on average usage. Should be scary

I flew from Perth to Adelaide and then on by road.

But the above average is slow compared to one 'official' average of 155kph between Adelaide and Coolgardie. That pair of blokes collected 10 tickets both sides of the border before being arrested outside of Coolgardie for reckless driving. They had a 44 gallon drum on the rear seat as an extra fuel tank to save on refuel times. It was this that got them arrested when someone noticed one of them hanging out of the window pumping fuel from the drum into the car's tank whilst they were speeding along.
