Ohh, this is fun - right click on any placemark and select "direction from/to here"

This certainly makes creating routes sooo much easier.
I have my house and other places saved in google earth (as you do...)
Just right clicked on my house in Brisbane and then my freinds house in Sydney - voila, route is calculated - save as KML file - upload to GC.com - brilliant.

Ooooh, I love updates to Google Maps. The addition of decent street level data was an excellent move forward, but driving directions too... sweet.

And as for the business listings.. so I can't get "Cafe near GCZZWH" , but I can get Cafe near -33.72887 151.04923. Hmmmmmm... caching and coffee...life is good.

Fantastic - I noticed this 'upgrade' also now allows the PDA Google Maps program to calculate directions for Australian addresses.

http://google.com/gmm/index.html - available for both Windows mobile and PalmOS flavours.

The PalmOS version should work on any machine that can see a wifi connection - not just the Treo.

yes, good if we can automate and extract the data into a PDA or GSAK etc..
ie if you trying to plot a route to more than one cache.
It would be cool to get directions to all caches in area, which is the biggest drama when doing multiple caches in a remote area (ie to avoid returning to base to confirm parking locations etc..)

Ferny Creek to Mansfield is one I have done recently, but Google has me going through locked DSE gates in the Dandenong Ranges National Park. And it also uses dirt roads/tracks instead of the main arterial :? :? :?

Oh, it'll be free, but it will pop up (or speak) messages like "Hey, that's a long journey. There's a KFC almost on the way where you could grab a bite to eat. Would you like to include it in your route?"

Directions heading north from my house on the southside of Brisbane have me joining the Gateway motorway at a non-existant interchange!

Nice set of jugs Mr Bronze. See you drink in style

Adelaide to Kanmantoo. Has you turning left thru the bush (check the turn left at Bald Hill Road part). ouch. Blad Hill Road passes BELOW, Under, ...the freeway. You'd need a bundy, not a tea, after that left.

clear skies, Astro.
