Walking (and caching)

Post by Mix » 25 January 04 4:30 pm

A few weeks ago, I was looking at some photos of an older friend from the 70Â’s when he went on walking trips with friends. (The TV just reminded me)

And I thought ‘IÂ’d like to do thatÂ’, “hay, I could cache on the wayÂâ€

There are few in the Brindabellas west of Canberra, as well as three in the high country around Jindy. I'm planning on doing these in Feb-March.

Try:
A Long Way To The Top by mtbikeroz (GC2ABD)

The top ACT - Bimberi Wilderness by mtbikeroz (GC5895)

Providence Reach by USA Greg (with AUS Dan) (GCACD9)

Australia's Highest by Roland Turner, Anand Kumria, James Davidson (GCF7)

#28 Great Southern Land: (2) The Paramount Peak. by Hounddog and SNIFTER (GC26E4)

Animals by Team Chaos (GC364D)

If you wait any longer than easter some of these will be snowed in. They certainly are good walks and take a walking stick with you.
When we placed Paramount Peak we watched as some European visitors that are used to the snow arrived with a couple of bits of dowel as a walking stick.

I can't wait to do them before winter, but a friend of mine warned me about the flies in the area at the moment. They seem resistant to Rid and Aeroguard. A real pain in the  .
