The final tally for the day was 101!!! I bet they'll be sleeping in this morning.... or maybe they'll be out trying to get 8 more to get another record, i.e. Australia's fastest 1000!

Congratulations. What a mammoth effort.

A rough calculation......that's better than one cache every 14.4 minutes for a full 24 hours.

It takes me longer than that just to get over to the dark side of town...before I even find my first one!!

We should create a wiki page to keep track of the various state and Australian records... anyone know the dates/holders of the previous records ? (I know that a2yg had the previous best, but don't know the date).

The ever reliable c@w provides the basic detail

The ones I know of (for Australia) are:
Rabbitto did 33 on 20th Nov 2004
teamkittens did 43 on 1st Jan 2005
Rhinogeo and I then did 44 on 8th Feb 2005
Rabbitto did 56 on 12th Mar 2005
Acts2youthgroup did 77 on 7th Oct 2005

BTW, absolutely fantastic effort by HawMorFords :D :D . Congratulations!!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not represented on that graph :D
Slow and steady wins the race :P
How do you keen cachers find the time to stop and smell the roses?

What drugs are the HawMorFords on

8) 8) :D :D CONGRATULATIONS :D :D 8) 8)

I'm exhausted thinking about it :P

I hope they put the time of each find (as well as the count) in each log - it'll give us amateurs some vague idea of how they did it

Give it a couple of days for the logs to filter through and this should plot an interesting route!

Okay. Who's going to be brave enough to back me up here.

24 hours
101 caches
=
14mins 20 secs per cache.

That allows no time for driving between, sustenance, fueling vehicles if required, a loo break.

It's simply not achievable if you actually have to search for each cache.

If you had one cache that took you ten minutes over the average you'd have to eagle the next in 4 mins to get back on track.

Of course if you claim logs on caches that you actually replaced as they are missing in action, muggled etc it makes it somewhat easier GCM3JN

A legitimate claim should be based on an actual search for all intact, logable caches, without a tour guide, and all team members for the attempt present at each find.

Ready with open mind for an adequate explanation of how this was achieved - and flame retardant overalls on.

DJ
