Steve Irwin killed by stingray barb

Post by Webguy » 04 September 06 4:42 pm

Sad news, the croc hunter was speared in the chest by a stingray barb around noon today and died very quickly while filming a new docco.

What a larger than life character!

I've had heaps of emails and SMS's sent to me about this....its amazing how quick word has got around.

Like him or hate him, you have to admit he took life by the nuts and squeezed!

a lot of people were waiting for something like this to happen to him but then again also thought of him as indestructible.

I can only imagine what sort of a cacher he could have been :D

You're absolutely right - imagine where some of his caches would have taken us :?

We snapped this photo when we visited Australia Zoo in January
- somehow I don't think his little dip was part of the script

Derringer comes to mind

At least he died doing what he loved. Hope his daughter continues his good work.

CRIKEY!!!!........ What a way to go. :(

Many times I'd wished a croc would eat the bugger, but I have to admit he was larger than life and we'll actually miss his antics.

My sincere sympathies go to his family.

So the next question is would he want the family to finish the film  . It almost seems improper not to :?

Here's a little send up of Steve Irwin that might bring a smile to your crocodile. Beware, it's South Park so Parental Guidance is in order.
