No problem Shell, I didn't expect you were, after all I can't control the animals (yet :-))

In the newer estates rather than pipe the run off water underground, they run it into ponds which they turn into a "feature" of the estate.

There are hundreds of snakes living in places like that so it's a timely warning though for people who rarely walk down by creeks, swamps, drainage ponds to keep a very close eye out for snakes.

Have to keep in the forefront of your mind not to go poking your hands down where you can't see if anyone is home and to keep an eye out for where you and anyone accompanying you is stepping.

Thought I would share these news story ... this boy was one of three people bitten last week in NSW. The other two survived.
