It's no longer cool. Details of a person who has made suicide threats, name, address, car regos etc. Not cool!! :(

I guess the police don't always get called to get cats out of trees huh? :?

Tell you what, I wouldn't want their job for any amount of money. You do get an understanding of what they deal with on a daily basis listening to this. I've always had a great deal of respect for police, even more so now hearing the warnings that are given on people they encounter.

Very interesting.

Hopefully the people in number 5 aren't listening as they would be able to find out that the noise complaint came from the people in number 2.

Even better the link comes through Pipe Networks from the source to my place, the traffic is not counted in my download limit. Free entertainment, WOOHOO.

Interesting as all Sydney police are now digital and supposedly hard to hear! I used to listen a lot on the scanner when I lived over there, and also wouldn't want the job.

Occasionally you would hear things that shouldn't have gone over the air, like details of someone who had died in an accident and they had to inform the family, if a bastard was listening they could have rung first.

Or more interesting ones, like the "random" breath tests with an unmarked car parked at the local pub, relaying the descriptions of the cars leaving to the RBT unit up the road.

Most are digital such as the central coast like Gosford etc except for some reason the Sydney North Shore isn't digital yet,

i remember before phones went digital you could listen in to mobile phone calls oops

And it was (and AFAIK still is) legal to listen in to radio conversations, but not to tell anyone else what you heard!
Which got a couple of jounos into hot water during some previous stories with pollies being overheard saying things they didn't oughta on their mobiles. The pollies waited until the PR dust settled before pursuing the matter, but!
