Hi marbig.
Lots of info available here: http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Main_Page
And more specifically, meanings of TLAs (Three-Letter-Acronyms) and so on here: http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Glossary

When placing a cache, after having identified that location that will take you an hour to hike to, try and take at least one or two extra containers of a different shape/size ....

nothing worse that getting there and finding that perfect hidey hole, only to find that the container you bought was a poofteenth too large ....

This is actually the first time I have read this topic :o
So I started at page one. Makes for interesting reading, I thought you were all taking the piss, till I realised the postings were for the year 2004
Maybe we were all that naive about the technical aspects of the hobby back then, to the point that today's well known Gurus were just asking stupid questions back then
What a different a thousand finds plus makes
To all those out there that think they know 'everything' please reread this topic from page one :o
There really is nothing new in this world, it has just changed a bit to suit it's modern surroundings
