Event Caches?

Post by Biggles Bear » 09 April 03 8:40 pm

What should one do with an event cache once the event has happened and everyone has logged it?

Shoulf you;
a) archive it,
b) disable it,
c) do nothing so that others can see what a great time it was.

Event Caches

Post by swampgecko » 09 April 03 11:32 pm

As an organiser of one event cache, I say give people some time to log thier finds/attendence after the event, then archive it. I just treat it like a normal cache, saves cluttering up people's list of locality caches with a cache that they can't do if it has been and gone....

hope this makes sense...

I agree with Swampy. As I have also been an organizer of an event cache I say just leave it on the site till everyone has logged it . The other way for people to keep looking at it is of course to put it on their watch list. I get a bit upset when all the photos are scattered around the different web sites. Put the photos on the cache site so all can view them at the one place.

Ideology your site is an exception.Your site has been here since the beginning and is the only one that is" regularly" entertaining for all.

Archive or disable events caches after a reasonable period

Post by bmac » 02 May 03 1:42 pm

My nearest cache at the moment is an event cache that I couldn't get to because it was on my birthday.

I am planning to email the organiser to get it disabled or achived to avoid cluttering up my list.
