Correct, I have visited this location during my travels, thou I was lucky enough not to enetr the walls.
Ok some hints, Nearby is a section of Berlin Wall, and a cavalry Museum. Mind you the structure shown only makes up a small part of the over complex

Finally pinned it down, it's Fort Leavenworth. Are you sure that you didn't have a short stay there
