Have been on this for a while in Adelaide. Just so people know it uses a yahoo mail list for your area to let you know what is available. Saves sending stuff to landfill if someone can use it - and it is amazing what people want!

WANTED: Old electrical meter box

Post by Partic » 20 January 06 12:26 pm

Perhaps the "Buy and Sell" forum could expand to "Buy, Sell, Swap & Freecycle"

That said, if any one in Melbourne is doing major renovations or house demolitions soon, and can salvage the power meter box for use in a cache, it would be greatly appreciated.

On pricing one today, I just couldn't justify the $230 at the wholesalers :?

hey Loon, Its a pity you live so far away- I know where I can get some brand new electrical boxes... :-)

And I've known about Freecycle because its used by a heap of people who are on some of the same groups as me thru yahoo, but most of them are Stateside.

I think its a clever idea...might look into it here :)

I just scored a garbage bag packed absolutely full of MdDonalds toys off Freecycle. Even though I don't generally swap I don't mind filling my caches with things to make it interesting to the kids, I remember how much Fab's kids in Adelaide liked the swaps.

Plus I have enough now to restock any empty ones I come across :)

My daughter and I are members of the Victor Harbor yahoo group.

We have scored board games for the local St John's cadet group and books (I am a bookcrosser) and have given away chook poo in recent times.

This thread is a blast from the passed.
