GPS Track error

Post by woodiebro » 12 October 03 6:56 pm

Hi all
Can someone please explain this.
Today I went out in the boat at Cairn Curren Res here in Victoria. I had the GPS on as we trolled around for 3 hrs, when the track was loaded into Ozi Explorer it is many klms to the Nth west. The GPS was on wsg84 as it always is. I have never seen it do this before, and it has always been accurate when producing a track that was taken from the car in the same manner and loaded onto the same Ozi map. The GPS is a Mag 315.
Thanks
Terry

Is the map (or maps) correctly calibrated?

Track Error

I guess it must be as it is off the Auslig CD's. Today I used the same map and GPS in the car and then loaded track into OZI on the same map and no problems. The only thing different I did was re- initialize the GPS, but I cant think of why that would have changed by itself since the last time I used it.
