Yep. Your GPS jammers may be great for messing around with your friends GPS while on a cache hunt, but they're not much use against a cruise missle. Iraq bought at least 6 large GPS jammers from a Russian firm, Aviaconversiya Ltd, at a cost of about $40,000 per unit. But attempts by Iraq to jam the system had little success, and didn't pose a problem for coalition forces.
The problem with the jammers is that by nature of their operation they advertise their position fairly well and so were fairly easy to 'take out' so to speak. Also, cruise missle tends to look 'upwards' for their GPS signals, so they're fairly resistant to ground based jamming. By the time a cruise missle is close enough to be affected by a jammer, it's close enough that it doesn't really matter anymore. So the moral of the story is - don't waste your time trying to jam a cruise missle when you could be running!
