Problem Geocaching

Post by If » 21 October 05 11:54 pm

Oh no it's true, I have a geocaching problem! I used to sedately ride my pushbike hundreds of kilometers each month around Brisbane, along the same well worn routes with little interest in the surrounding scenery as I had seen it all before. But now I cannot stick to the same routine each day, I regularly wander off into the bush, or other places I never knew existed. My irrational behaviour has not gone unnoticed as I come home from my bike rides now noticibly happier, relaxed and with a big grin on my dial, as if I have achieved something more than mindlessly exercising the physical being. Now my mental wellbeing is being exercised. Friends have noticed changes in my behaviour and manner which they can only put down to being on medication or drugs. Little do they know or care that I need none of their mundane commercially, or illegally available panaceas to find happiness, I have "Geocaching". My fellow cachers, enjoy your sport and let none who know otherwise blunt your enthusiasm for the great outdoors. If.

Does spending 5 hours composing a puzzle cache (5th Symphony) on one's wedding anniversary count as having a problem? My wife seemed ok with it, but later I found the brownie point balance did definitely take a hit that day. :(

I went caching last Christmas Day. Though that says more that

1) No family within 1000km

2) No girlfriend to spend time with (since solved)

3) It is the one day of the year Adelaide CBD is relatively deserted
