Well every work day I put $750 to $800 in diesel in the truck (Syd to Melb with a Albury Change over)(1900 odd klms).
I certainly appreciate getting 600klms out of 30 odd bucks in the GeoeXcel.
I actually checked the price change this year (via the log book) and it started at $1.08pl and is currently sitting on $1.39pl!!!
30 cents is a bloody big jump for 9 months

Did I hear it's going to be taxed near the end of the year? Is it taxed now at all?I had to pay 59.9 in the city and 63.9 in the country !
And this is a waste product of the production of petroleum!
It sure cost more to travel compaired to a few years back. I did 16000 km on about $1600 including food, fuel (ulp) & accomedation (tent anyware free) etc in 2002 aprox. Not now!
A lot of people can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage
here in this country.

Well, there's a very simple answer.

Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low.

The reason for that is purely geographical.
Our oil is located in Bass Strait and off the coast of W.A..

Our dipsticks are located in Canberra.
