Adults Only Cache

Post by Lt. Sniper » 20 February 05 10:41 pm

Ok, I have been thinking about an adultÂ’s only cache for a while, I know that this game has a lot of family teams and I respect that with all of my caches so far. I was just thinking of something different.

DonÂ’t get me wrong this isnÂ’t going to be an ammo box full of porn or anything, far from that. I was thinking a couple of magazines, FHM, Cosmo, Ralph (mags with some style that are still tasteful), a few cans of deodorant, perfume etc, things along those lines.

Any suggestions or ideas?

The perfume and deodorant are ok, the magazines are not the sort of thing a lot of parents would be happy that their young children had access to. It would not meet the groundspeak guidelines if you intended to list there.

From the guidelines:
Geocaching is a family activity and cache contents should be suitable for all ages.

Adults Only Cache.

Post by Ghost Who Walks » 20 February 05 11:30 pm

I was pretty sure that i saw the words "Adults Only Cache".

Wouldn't this mean that "Adults" would be the only ones to go and visit this cache?

And if "Adults" only visited this cache, then the children wouldn't be there...

Or am i missing something?

Yeh, I'm sure the 15 year old cacher will just ignore the 'adult only' one.

I think if you're going to do one... by all means put in adult stuff like perfume, deodorant, etc, but I think you'd be best steering clear of the Ralph magazines - I'm an adult and I certainly wouldn't be happy finding one in a cache.

Gee,
I'm so sorry i didn't think of that before.

NOT.

Maybe if it went into the members only section.

And if a Ralph mag offends...

I seem to remember a story of there being an AO cache before and it got archived because it ended up empty (lots of unequal swaps). As for kids finding it I think the real issue is the accidental find by kids. That would really promote a positive attitude to the sport, A mother cleans out her kids room finds some AO stuff, when she gets up the kids they take her to the cache, she reads the web address and lets us know just what she thinks.

Why bother? ..... Magazine $6 to $12.

...Plastic Dinosaur $1

Fun of finding one=fun of finding the other

Therefore why limit the potential players?

And besides the 15 year old cacher that chooses to go and find it anyways...

What about the 10 YO muggle that was searching under that tree for the latest place to setup their cubby house and finds the stash of "Adult" Content. He'd soon have the best cubby house in town  .

My thinking was to pre-contact me for authorisation to find it...something along those lines.

I chose FHM/Ralph since anyone can buy them, even a 10 year old with $7.95

As for muggles, if any kid finds an ammo box cache, I can guarantee you that you will never see that box again so they can have the mags for all I care.

From what I hear, if you want adult magazines, all you have to do is search for Ansett's Lament of late.
Seems there is plenty of action in the litter nearby. :x

We tried to set an adults cache and it was rejected on gc.com. I wonder if gc.com.au will allow a wine swap cache. BTW the location that we had was the place that Handle Like Eggs and now Tripple G is now located.

In Vino Veritas (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_de ... ?wp=GCM9GC) was allowed on gc.com

I presume because you need to find the cache then go get the wine from the cache owner.

I wouldn't think that storing wine in the field would be good for it.

Your presumption is correct.
