Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
tatty,
Pls explain this word you use - "buy" ?????
The owner of Ikea is one of the richest people in the world.
Also, TattsLotto, PubKeno, ... there are many sources of small pencils.
Being an atheist, I now hear I'm missing out on a source at churches. Is this happening in all churches, or only certain denominations??

$2 for a box of pencils is cheaper than driving an hour to IKEA to pocket some freebies here

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
I've almost been kicked out of the local club for stealing one too many keno pencils.
i guess this is what happens when there's no ikea in canberra.

I've heard the Golf courses (both the regular and miniature variates
) are a good source of small pencils
I prefer pesky's bandsaw method - except I use a hacksaw
And of course the grinder to sharpen up the top ends...

Ever heard of a 50c pencil sharpener?
Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
I often find pencils break and pencil sharpeners go rusty and make holes in the log bag.

I'm not sure how much power it takes to run a grinder for 20 secs but I'm sure it would be less than 50c And it is about 10 times quickerMtnLioness wrote:Excessive much?Laighside Legends wrote:I've heard the Golf courses (both the regular and miniature variates

Can we use them as swaps as well?
I'm not really sure why we bother this much with pens/pencils as I (and I sure many others would) carry a pen while out caching anyway.

You know you're a cacher when ..... you get sidetracked talking about small pencils

Well, back on topic, you know you're a geocacher when you buy 200 pens and spend hours with the youngest reducing them in size, using secateurs and scissors, getting ink all over the place and the youngest one comes up to you the next night and asks to do it all over again. Well, OK, not on topicgmj3191 wrote:Off topic

Well done C@W, being a good father and involving the kids is more important than even caching, caughtatwork wrote: Well, back on topic, you know you're a geocacher when you buy 200 pens and spend hours with the youngest reducing them in size, using secateurs and scissors, getting ink all over the place and the youngest one comes up to you the next night and asks to do it all over again. but you know you're a cacher when you can combine the two ....

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
.... even though the gnomes are gno longer racing, you think gnow is more fun because there's a better chance that a gnome will still be where it's posted when you drive 50km to find it.
