You fly all the way from Melbourne to New Orleans without any sleep at all. When you arrive, having been awake for 36 plus hours, you leave your HTC Hero phone on the Aiport Shuttle and your first thought is not "Oh no, how will I contact my family", not "Oh god, I hope no-one uses that to hack my email accounts and steal my identity", but "Damn,.. and I had my bloody Pocket Query all downloaded for offline use so I didn't have to worry about roaming data". But you know things are really bad when you had printouts and your Garmin Etrex packed as backup.....

And no..I never got the phone back and yes, I did enjoy caching in New Orleans, even if most were virtuals 8) Those trees did not die in vain and a bunch of TB's got some great mileage !.

When you see people rummaging around in the bushes at the local park and go over to say hello instead of calling the police.

You see a gnome in your grandparent's front yard, and you are just about to grab it, until you realize that it's the same gnome that's been there since you were 6...

(in my defense, someone moved two gnomes within a 200m radius of his place..and i just missed out on them!)

I have never even LOOKED at a gnome before the race, but have now BOUGHT gnomes, even though I had to find a different use for them.

You go shopping and actively just check out the store for any gnomes for sale........ and there are so many........ and some are only $3.00 whilst others are $37.00. AND you become an expert in what stores sell the best looking gnomes.   ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

On Christmas day you leave your house...not to go and attend a christmas lunch, visit family or spread holiday cheer but to rescue a gnome from rising water.

You walk down a path at your place of employment and notice a black container part buried in the garden under a layer of mulch and wonder "who put a cache there and why haven't I got notification yet?" only to realize its a rat baiting system.... lucky I didn't go searching for the logbook.
