I have to agree with Geof ... is all the antagonism really worth it ... mud sticks both ways and it isn't going to change anyone's mind.
Don't get me wrong I applaud the cause... maybe not the cache but each to his own opinion.
I really didn't think it necessary to take it to the US forum as we all know where that one will lead and no one wins there ... it's a privately run site with their own rules and agendas.
It's just a lot wiser to play here without all the rules ... and we can see it works better for it
EDIT - PS I'm not American either but Victorian (Mexican) bred ... is that too close to the border?

No one is going to win at this and the last thing we need is a US vs Australia geocaching cat fight.
Let me spell out what I think to everyone ...

Sorry, but I don't think we should... their decision is purely hypocrytical considering the scale of this disaster and their support for the 9/11 cache...Team GeoCoopers wrote:P L E A S E J U S T L E T I T G O ! ! !
I would urge all Aussie's that have expressed an opinion here to also express it there
Cheers & well meaningly and cachingly,
Leek

As I have stated previously, I am all for Flame wars, especially with some arrogant yanks but that thread is so far off track now, its not about whoÂ’s country gave the most money or who has sent more people, its was about a cache, a single cache, with good intentions, which was heavily supported by the Australian geocaching community, which was bitched slapped off the face of the earth by some yanks with a weird sense of whatÂ’s right and wrong, all because they wanted to be politically correct, the worst kind of correct, they argue for the sake of racking up posts and making them selves feel better about them supporting there country from evil Australian people who crack wise jokes about there mammas, but they need a mirror because they are so far along on there mighty horses that no one else can be right a part from them....in say this, that how far off topic has this discussion has gone, If I can do it in 1 paragraph then a lot of people can do it in a few posts. I think its time we stop the madness, after all its over a cache, a game piece, we all have fun caching and thatÂ’s how it should stay.

and so what has this got to do with geocaching again... i forget...
o that's right, Once upon a time, someone had an idea to build a house of sticks (a pig i think) and he didn't think it would be a problem... and then the big bad wolves (err i mean groundspeak people) blew his house of sticks down... and then goldilocks saw what was happening and said "3 years ago the big bad wolves *didn't* blow down the house of straw that was sitting next door..." and the 3 bears got riled... "nobody blows down piggys house of sticks and leaves the house of straw still standing... it's definitely the big bad wolves double standards..." they enlisted the help of the seven dwarves (complete with mining tools), and little red riding hood and set upon destroying the big bad wolves computing centre (wolves have computers don't they?). In the end, piggy's house of sticks was still a pile of wood, the computing centre was now inactive and the bears, dwarves and little red were sitting around thinking "what have i got to do now, the computing centre provided me with the means to order porridge, baskets of goodies for grandma (nd whatever dwarves like to consume...) over the internet"
And the big bad wolves only blew down piggy's house because 1000 other people built them and as we all know, that's what big bad wolves do, blow down houses... but the house of straw stayed up because when that one was built the wolves didn't blow down straw houses back then...
now where's my GPS? I need to go caching... or to sleep
