Jigsaw puzzles

Post by Goldenwattle » 26 August 20 5:08 pm

I have been enjoying doing these puzzles, but it appears some images are not the CO's own work. I wonder how this stands with copyright. Being published with no acknowledgement to the artist/photographer, or payment for their image.

I don't want to name anyone here, so I have sent you a message.

When I create a jigsaw puzzle at jigidi.com there is a field to acknowledge "Attribution (give credit to someone)"
I check this box and fill in the details, unless the image is my own.
To the best of my knowledge, this information is visible to anyone viewing the puzzle.
In that case, is there any need to also acknowledge this information at geocaching.com.au?
(Since the puzzle is actually hosted elsewhere.)

If the image is a 3rd party site and it's not loaded into the gallery for the geocache, then no, nothing is needed. If you do load the image to the geocache gallery and it's not yours then, well, the problem is yours. If we get a take down notice, then we'll simply take it down. It's not our role to manage content.
