Central OZ, July 2014 anyone?

Alice springs event, winter 2014.???
Ok, I know 2Lost-Souls will kill me ( and I don't want to throw them under the bus) but Alice, winter 2014, how about it??? I don't think we should plan a "mega event"we don't have what it takes to put something like that on, but if people want to plan holidays, how about the first week of July.

first of all, an event would be basic, book out a place to eat for a couple hours and have a meet and greet, but outside of that it would be "on your own" Sure there could be some days we would set up to get out and about with folks, but the main idea would be to get as many folks as we could to the alice on one special day ; find some caches, hopefully hide some caches and enjoy some great Central OZ weather. I'm sure we could have close to 200 hides within 100 KM of the Alice and would , should we decide to hold and event, have a few dedicated caches just for the day.

At the moment, there are no promises, by any of the local cachers, but putting feelers out there for any interest!

I'm unlikely to make it, but would it make sense to make it say 2 weeks after the SA Mega? Unless it is still too hot then. I am planning on heading up to the Flinders after the event and then making my way back to Sydney, but an Alice Springs event shortly after could work for some as there will be a number of people travelling to the mega with campers etc and making it a big run.

We will be up and around Alice 28th June until 14th July, 2014 with a smallish group.

I'm on myswag.org camper trailer forum and a group of us a planning on going there will be a few geocachers in the mix.
