Geocaching kitsch
At last! Have you ever yearned to stab your eyes out with hot pokers, but didn't have the right reasons? Have you been kept awake at night wondering how to throw away that hard earned cash in your pocket? Are you just really, really (reaalllly) bad at reading instructions on a web site and in need of step by step instructions for finding a box under a rock? Then this is the video for you ...

*sigh* ... and because of the guidelines, it's not even allowed to come with a free set of steak knives.

It would be a fun watch (in the same way that 80s corporate vieos give me a chuckle), but if you needed to keep it at home and review it regularly, I'd be a bit worried!!!
It will be interesting to see if this starts cropping up in caches soon......
The perfect gift for the cacher who has everything, but is missing a clue....

I just found an easter egg on that page too (select the text at the very bottom). Seems to be part of some online hunt.
I too am curious about the geocaching with children part. I'm sure that using a GPSr would give much better reception, and it's more morally acceptable to wedge them between the windscreen and the dashboard.

Must have had their MaxClients set to 2 in the conf fileMind Socket wrote:Nifty. They've managed to port the poor uptime of gc.com to Linux. Cross-platform unavailability, only $16.95!

I am intrigued by this video though... I wonder if it is like all the non-oz caching magazines... you know 2 tips on what to do , 300 on what not to do.........

Nor are you allowed to watch it while drinking booze next to a terrorist target in a National ParkMind Socket wrote:At last! I'd like to see it out of sheer morbid curiosity!
But if it's anything like the Geocaching book I reviewed a while back, it's full of fluff and pretty much pointless.
I remember someone here had a Geocaching VCD they put together to show people what it's all about?
I think something that shows you *what* it's all about rather than telling you how to do it is a much better idea.
I'd like to have a "highlights package" I could show people when they ask what caching is about.
Video and pictures are great for that.

caching on video...

I'd like to have a "highlights package" I could show people and then ask them what they think the people in the video are doing.
