Website hosting

Post by rinsemesocks » 03 February 13 7:21 pm

I am looking at setting up a small website geocaching related with very few visitors expected, so I don't expect data to be an issue. My ISP free webspace can't cope with php unless I upgrade to a hosted plan.

Has anybody had any experience with the free webhosting services on the net, such as http://www.zymic.com. They seem too good to be true.

I have been using doteasy, but the free package no longer exists (except for existing users like me).
My bandwidth limit there is 1gb, which I keep hitting lately, and the other inclusions at 000 are better, so I may move one of my sites there.
Even using their subdomain would be fine for most general uses - and I note you can place your own ads on your site (eg google adsense) as well as use included ecommerce packs.

I use Hostgator on their Baby Croc plan. Very good value for money. Unlimited everything.
