Streaking...

Post by Yurt » 30 January 13 4:50 pm

It's a form of madness isn't it?

All thanks to this cache and its lesser brothers (10-90).

I've heard there's a 120 day streak challenge somewhere in the southern suburbs  .

I stopped at 115 days, so I'm glad that one is well out of my normal caching range 8) .

It certainly is a form of madness. I made a decision long ago and stopped at 400 days (combined GC &GCA), some other mad people are carrying on pjmpjm is on 872 I think.

I did the 100 finds cache before the other appeared and I have not bothered going back to get the 10 to 90.

When it stops being fun. I think I got to 137 and on a rainy winter's night, tired from work I just gave it away.

I did see some post on the Groundspeak forum about the record being some dude with over 3000 days and still going. I mean that's almost as long as geocaching has been around!

Woohoo! Just hit 100 days in a row.
Now there's a new series nearby so I may be able to keep going for a bit longer. Someone is sure to place a 150 days cache...

I just kept going and going - first target was 122 days as there's a cache in Sydney's south with that qualification. Then I discovered there's another in that series with a 183 day qualification. A week or two back a 150 day challenge was published and I managed to FTF (OTF so far) on that one. I was keen to wrap up 183 days (6 months) but when I'd come so far 200 days wasn't that far away. Today I hit 200 days in a row. Now I don't think I could keep going until 366 days but then I said I could never do 100 days either. There's no obvious target between 200 and 366 but I'll just keep going and see what happens. I am never going to be able to start another one like this and it's become easier to keep going than to stop!
