Today I filled in the last of my calendar days. My caching calendar is now full. There were some anxious moments at times over the year, and caching after work was new to me and provided it's challenges. Winter with the short daylight hours were an additional challenge, especially trying to find a cache after work. I often needed a guaranteed find as there were not enough daylight hours to find something else. In August and September, I had to embark on a mini streak of 3 days and 4 days in a row, respectively, again on work days. A new experience for me and not one I really want to repeat. Can't ever see myself doing a cache streak of months or years on end. Caching and work don't tie in well for me, I just want to go home at the end of the day, not take a detour to find the next closest cache. It has been interesting, and I was determined to complete the challenge. I never missed an allocated day but I look forward to caching when it suits me again.
Now where is there a challenge cache for having completed your calendar days. I deserve a smilie for my hard work all year.

Woohoo! I did it! That was 33 caches with a total of 114 difficulty and 137 terrain.
Find the 6 remaining terrain 5.0 caches in the ACT that I have not found.
Fail. I only found 3 terrain 5 ACT caches in 2013. Only one more bush cache and 2 more water caches to get.
Finish my D/T matrix up to 4.5/4.5 (4 spots to fill)
Fail. Still have 2 to go. 1.5/4.5 and 4.5/1.5. If I tried hard I might still be able to do this....
Well that and to keep knocking off the ACT's longest since found caches one by one.
I'm not sure exactly how many of these I did. I did manage to find 17 caches which hadn't been found for more that 6 months for a total of 35+ years worth and and average of 767 days since found.

In other achievements I managed to crack over 250 caches in a month and exceeded 100 in a month twice more which meant I managed to find over 1,000 caches in 2013, more that 300 more than my previous record, but with all the power trails popping up this isn't much of an achievement to speak of.

After getting home from travelling in Dec 2012, 2013 was my quietest ever caching year... I blame work... having a real job is greatly affecting my caching time... time to retire me thinks to find more in 2014

Well it looks like I won't be getting my 2013 goal of reaching 600 Trigs by the end of the year, due to various reasons. Still I did manage 576 so just a bit short! :(

Now for 2014, 700 is way out of range as the numbers available by public transport and pity rides from friends is getting smaller so perhaps 650 is more realistic.

GC caches for the most part have lost their appeal for me, too many rubbish nano, micro caches out there. So much rubbish to sift through before you find something worth it. I guess the mountains caches have spoiled me and I expect too much, but I do love to be taken to new unknown and unexpected vistas. :)

To all good caching for next year.

My only real goal each year is to average at least 1 find per day. Normally I am well ahead but this year has been slow for some reason. Today I found the 5 necessary to get me to 365 finds for the year, so if I don't find anymore that will be 1.00. Last year was 1.74 with 637 finds though I had more work trips as well as the NZ Mega trip to help the totals along.

This is also the first year since I started (except probably 2003 - my first year) when I have only found caches in NSW and nowhere else. The one day trip to Melbourne I did this year only had time for a look for an old GCA moveable that wasn't there.

To get to my 1000th cache find this only 368 more finds i need.
hide my 1000th cache celebration cache in a place where you would not expect to find a paegle boy cache.
