Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Can I just say how much fun I've been having - firstly in the planning/strategy, working out which requirements are acheivable, juggling the options etc, but also going out and doing things* I didnt expect to find myself doing in the course of "normal" geocaching.
I've never completed one of these games before, so I dont care where I finish, Im just hoping to reach the 350 point target. But regardless, thanks to Caughtatwork and anyone behind the scenes who has been part of making it happen - I'm having a great time

*Todays effort involved standing on a ladder in 28 knot winds outside the local yacht club, holding a walking pole over my head with one hand and my phone to my ear with the other hand (and wondering when someone from the club was going to come over and ask me what the hell I was doing)...Bewilderbeest wrote:Can I just say how much fun I've been having - firstly in the planning/strategy, working out which requirements are acheivable, juggling the options etc, but also going out and doing things* I didnt expect to find myself doing in the course of "normal" geocaching.

A 17: Marathon clarification.
Can you use a cache as part of the marathon that was used for another event?

ummm...I didn't see that one in the "requirements" list? I must have missed soemthing That was nothing, you should have seen strike-a-light going for his swim in the freezing waters of Sydney harbour last weekend!!! I had a bit of a look around for a cache at the far end of a heated inddor pool but they seem very few and far between round here!Bewilderbeest wrote:*Todays effort involved standing on a ladder in 28 knot winds outside the local yacht club, holding a walking pole over my head with one hand and my phone to my ear with the other hand (and wondering when someone from the club was going to come over and ask me what the hell I was doing)...
Yes, this is FUN! I love games, gives my days a huge boost of happiness
Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
But the marathon doesn't start for a few days yet (27th) so you can still plan to fill the hole with something else when the streak startsLouiseAnn wrote:A 17: Marathon clarification.

Umm Can I just confirm about Tennis:
Seems to be causing me all sorts of problems.
The numbers have to be consecutive as in 00,15
or could it be say S30 ......... E115 ?

Anywhere 00 15 30 40 appear in order is fine. 115 Is good to go. 51 is not good as it's it out of order.FelixII wrote:Umm Can I just confirm about Tennis:

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Hang on... this may bugger me up majorly...caughtatwork wrote:You can't use a cache for more than one requirement.
For the Decathlon and Heptathlon specifically.
I have found 10 and 7 caches independently, and listed them all in the claim, but only logged against the highest of those 10 and 7 as per the instructions.
However, I have also made claims against OTHER caches found as PART of those two events... in the case of the heptathlon I think I claimed 6/7 of the caches found that day as other events. If this is not allowed I will have to have my hepathlon log deleted and complete it again... and check on my decathlon to see if I have conflicts :'(
Clarifications?

Them be the rules. Each requirement must be claimed against a geocache previously unfound by you. ie. You cannot revisit a geocache you have already found to claim a requirement, unless the requirement specifically states an exception.
Each requirement must be claimed against a different geocache. ie. You cannot claim more than one requirement per geocache.
Little to clarify.
Any cache you use for one requirement cannot be used again.
I'll remove your heptathlon claim.
Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Ohhhhhh, so they dont have to be immediately consecutive like S30 15.XXX but could be S30 25.153 ??? I mistook it to mean immediately consecutive ... anyway I think I will keep the one I have earmarked as the points suit lolcaughtatwork wrote:Anywhere 00 15 30 40 appear in order is fine. 115 Is good to go. 51 is not good as it's it out of order.FelixII wrote:Umm Can I just confirm about Tennis:
