A step up from a mirror on a stick.

Post by Bundyrumandcoke » 01 March 12 7:18 am

I saw this, and thought it would be great for checking in those holes in places you really dont want to stick your hand.

But then I thought, I already carry too much stuff when I do get out caching.

I saw one of these in action recently when a cache (Tombs with a View - GC3C7BE) slipped down into a hole in a tree. It was quite amazing just how much you could see on the screen. Eventually the cache was located by the CO using rare earth magnets tied to the end of a piece of string. Technology in reverse.

A couple of years ago, a cache was lost into a big centrifical pump that was on static display in a town down the victorian coast, east of Melbourne. This would have done the trick in retrieving it.

Wow, what a great idea! I have a fairly good 'mirror on a stick' that even has a built-in light, and I thought it was pretty good, but this model is a real space-age thingo indeed. Don't know how much I'd use it, but sure would have tried it out on 'Bifrost' a few weeks ago during my many visits there.

Handy for termite inspections I would think, also other applications like looking for blockages in pipes I guess.

By the sound of it there isn't much that hasn't been used at Bifrost. Ground penetrating radar springs to mind.

Divining sticks and a spiritual medium are probably next on the list..... Hmm.. Do they fit the criteria of 'specialised equipment required'?

That would be a great dare if someone's up for it.... :D "Yes, I need your help. I'm trying to find a box. It's 'small', just off Old Windsor Rd, hidden near a lake and on/under a platform, and I've got no idea what's in it or what it looks like...." There's some great youtube footage in the making

They (spirtual madiums)have already been used with no success, the only correct info they gave was to say that "today you won't find the little container". ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
No, not by me either.

What about a really powerful vacuum cleaner and some kind of sieve?
