The top came off my Garmin
Literally.
I had to remove everything off the dash today, due to a new dashboard top being fitted. Both GPSs, mounts, cabling, dash mat, ect. Anyhow, after it was done, I went to start putting everything back, and picked up my GPS60CSx, and the whole black top that covers the antenna and includes the on/off button, came off in my hand. I am guessing the heat inside the car has melted the adhesive/epoxy.
Anyone had this happen? Its around 4 years old, should I take the matter up with Garmin, or should I just look at some sort of DIY repair. I am concerned about keeping the waterproofing of the unit, as it will be used on the bike on the way to the Mega.
Cheers

Re: The top came off my Garmin
I had a similar problem with the rubber surround on my original yellow eTrex, Alex at Catographics in Adelaide had a replacement. Though it is happening again with my 60cx, but it still works.
So I would check a specialist GPS shop if you have one handy to see if they a replacement that will stick on.

I am lucky, the outer casing if the top is still in one piece, so replacement isnt necessary, just reattachment.

Well, the top of mine is in that damn mineshaft, swimming along merrily!
Didnt find it when I went back with Tiger-Muffin AND a torch!

I have reattached mine with some Sikaflex, just around the edge, and on top of the antenna.

My old 60CS does that. I just push it back on and continue on my shonky way.
