Weird find - any thoughts

Post by McPhan » 08 February 12 7:12 pm

Doing a cache today at the top of one of Canberra's accessible and scenic hills, I came across a ziploc bag containing a folded piece of paper with the word Yogi on it. It was taped in a spot easy to find but out of the way of the casual observer. I originally thought that this may have been a new cacher trying to claim a find by leaving their own log so I opened the bag.

The enclosed paper had a circled number 4 in the top right corner and in equally neat writing the following on two lines :-

"Bees like movie theatres in their homes"

Anybody have any theories conspiracy or otherwise?

Yogi is the boyfriend, 4 is the (approaching) number of years they've known each other, the bees etc is a hint. It's a game, he's up there now looking for the bag, he found the other three, something's wrong.

You have the bag .......

my only theory is, this is the fourth bag that "Yogi" has to find, on a treasure hunt or something, around canberra.

Now, "Bees like movie theatres in their homes???" where/what could that be? now i want to go searching for number 5..

You had the piece of paper the wrong way up! It was addressed to IGOY, the well known hermit bee-keeper of Red Hill who was looking to have a Monty Python video night............... or maybe not !

I hate to say it, but if this is a 'private' treasure hunt then I reckon the clue is more likely to be referencing a specific house (i.e. someone known to both the hider and the seeker) with a home theatre system rather than a movie cinema.

Nothing to do with The Hive Gallery then?

Sounds like a cryptic scavenger hunt type thing - dangerous thing to leave lying about with geocachers on the prowl :P I guess I'm not the only one who's eye gets drawn to ribbons tied in trees, chalk arrows and the like then

I too found this today and intially thought it was another plain sight hide, but Yogi didn't fit with the cache. There was a guy sitting nearby reading a book so maybe he was waiting for Yogi to find his clue :?:
