Cache found using Streetview

Post by crew 153 » 12 December 11 11:14 pm

I had a DNF on a cache this morning and then when I was back on my computer I pulled up streetview using GSAK.

When I zoomed in I noticed that something which I remembered seeing at GZ was missing from the image. Had another visit to GZ and yep it was the well camouflaged cache.

Don't think the Google camera van quite managed to squeeze in past the gate to approach TECIS GZ. However, you can in fact view the gate off the Comenarra Parkway . . . not that it will help much!

Have heard of instances though where cachers have been caught by the Streetview Van:
Heres an example:

or

If you go back a frame you can see him looking at his GPS

There's an old multi in Sydney that involves driving all over town to about 8 WPs which was published before StreetView. Now you can get the info from 7 of the WPs without leaving your desk. Not that I would do that...
