Is it possible to do them all in a day though???pjmpjm wrote:Have now logged 45 (I think) out of the 60 BMPTs and can highly recommend this new series!rogerw3 wrote: At the risk of blowing my own horn, come up the Blue Mountains and do the 60 caches GCA Power Trail, (tag bmpt). Not a micro or nano to be found!
Most are not hidden right on the Great Western Highway and some even involve mini bush walks. The caches run all the way from Penrith to Lithgow.
And once you get out in the Blue Mountains, there are plenty more GCAs and GCs to find.

One way to find out!
I did it in five one hour (of caching) blocks. So with travel time 7 or so hours!

Re: Australian Power Trails
you could be the first to do the bmpt in a single day
Re: Australian Power Trails
Maybe 22nd December is the day to try - it's got the longest daylight hoursTaiko'sFamily wrote:you could be the first to do the bmpt in a single day
Blue Mountains Power Trails (bmpt)
I think it should be possible to do in one (long) day, after all none of the hides are challenging with mostly adequate parking. I know it took me several days to cover the distance, but that was on foot!
Team Canary have done the whole trail and pjmpjm has only 2 more to find to complete it, but so far no cacher has done it in one day.
Who will be the first to do so?

Perhaps you should offer a coffee at the end point for the first to do so Roger

The Bunny clan have the trail scheduled for the early in the New Year as well as a run along the way. This looks like a fun challange.rogerw3 wrote:

I think it would depend if you were doing other caches in the area as well. If you were just doing the BMPT, I don't think there would be any problem with getting all of them in a day. But as Roger points out in the cache notes, there are a lot of other caches in the area. If you added them to your list, you probably wouldn't get to all of them.
I easily did all of the ones in the lower mountains in a few hours, with stops for other (non-caching) things. It's a great trail, I've enjoyed the ones I've done & will finish the rest of the trail soon.

Re: Blue Mountains Power Trail (BMPT) Speed Caching
I've discussed this with rogerw3 and had half a mind (note expression) to try it on the day of publication.blossom* wrote: Is it possible to do them all in a day though???
However, it might have been half-witted on my part.
Personally, though, I believe that with an early start and good stamina, it should be easily possible to log all BMPTs during daylight hours, especially in the summer.
Remember that the caches aren't all located on the GWH. And that they're designed to be approached from the east . . .
I've now logged 58 of the 60. Only TC has done all 60.
Another tip of the hat to rogerw3 for a great idea!

Well you can get out your camera and wave cause blossom*, Zalgariath and I are attempting it in one day. We insist that rogerw3 watches us cross the finish line.
