Help tracking down o-rings

Post by caughtatwork » 02 November 11 5:33 pm

Hey there my fellow community members.

I'm trying to source about 200 o-rings. Yes, this is geocaching related.

Internal dimensions are 5/16th or 8mm.
External dimensions are 7/16th or 11mm.
The "dash number" for those who know what o-rings are all about is -011

I'm trying to find them for about $0.10 each (including GST and delivery) which I appreciate is a challenge.

Can a few people try their Google-fu and see if they can come up with something. The best I can do is $0.15 from this mob.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most automotive shops will sell these. Not that I've looked at the actual size you want or know what they charge for them.

They don't quote a shipping price, even after you register. So it could be anything from $0.00 to $100.00
I don't want to play that game.
Great price though.

Maybe

I'm trying to source some more nano caches (stay away Freddo) for the GCA shop.

We got some last time with an o-ring, but I can't find any a decent price that come with o-rings.
So I thought if I can get some at a few cents each, I can add the o-ring and then you get a nano that should keep water out.

Failing finding them at a decent price, we might just forgo the o-ring or stop carrying nano caches.

PM sent. I'm amazed at how coherent I was at 1am and half asleep. I thought I'd written total gibberish and kept waking in a fright because of it.

I did track some special ones down a few years ago for work from a shop near Artarmon. Now to see if I can remember where it was and refind it.

Have you tried your local bearing suppler ( SKF, BCB) or hydraulics specialist or try the importer direct with that quantity you may get trade price.

http://www.hallite.com/index.asp

I will also find out what price I can get them for.

Cheers
