Re: Google+
I'd take an invite, but with my domain being with google apps it means that I can't use Google Profiles, which in turn means that Google Plus is out of the equation as well!
When they eventually pull their finger out and allow google apps users to have profiles i'll be happy!
Whilst Google is great, sometimes they create hassles as well.

Re: Google+
Very clever having access as "by initiation only".
Makes people fall over themselves to get on.
They did the same thing with gmail.

Re: Google+
In a roundabout way, FB did similar - it was originally only available to centres of education.
The 'domain hosted by google' not allowing a profile to be made is maddening. I have two domains with them and can't use either for a G+ profile. I'd love to know the reasoning behind the ... oversight?
Will be interesting to see how they implement a version of FB's pages, if at all. G+ is the new shiny, and many businesses are quick to use the new social media to their best. (and worst, omg spaaaaam )

Re: Google+
I got a gmail address when it was invitation only. Do I use it? Nope - unless I have to register at a site to download something where I think it might send me spam and I can ignore it as I never use it. Same for my hotmail and yahoomail accounts. I am a firm believer in changing email accounts every few years due to spambots gradually discovering my email address in any case. Plus old girlfriends, but that's a different issue
As for Google+, I will wait and see. My friends I want to interact with are on facebook, and I am not going to run 2 accounts. Will enough of my friends migrate to google+ to make it worthwhile? Is it worth my time to transfer all the photo albums or whatever I want to a new site? Unlikely.

I was one of the first people to test it out. Unfortunately it never caught on:(roundcircle wrote:Wave started as invitation only.cachefinder97 wrote:Just shows that it will stay around for a long time.gmj3191 wrote:Very clever having access as "by initiation only".

Re: Google+
I had the worst time with it, never did figure out how to use it.cachefinder97 wrote: I was one of the first people to test it out. Unfortunately it never caught on:(
G+ seemed very non intuitive for me at first. After Gwave I nearly threw my hands up and decided I wasn't going through this again. Nearly. After a bit of poking around, I realized it's wasn't FB intuitive. I'd gotten so used to FB's UI that a new one was too hard. G+'s interface and where stuff is makes sense. I feel like I've been through FB-deprogramming.
Re: Google+
at the end of the day it comes down to your needs and social groups/circles.
with facebook they made alot unpopular decisions but hey people stayed having said this G+ is still a work in progress.

Re: Google+
Yep, no games yet thank goodness!
But the rest (status updates/photos etc) are all there.
I'm following more people already on + than I was on FB and find it a better experience (for me anyway)
The hard bit right now is figuring who people are, especially geocacher, but it's all falling together slowly
We've played with the Hangouts feature with a few cachers and it's been fun (but not sure how long the novelty will last)
