I haven't done the full IBEM, so I don't know what's in NT and SA as far as the official song goes.
Can you make up a verse for it and we'll add it in.

From news just in, someone has just spent the last 18 months and 30,000km visiting the place in the song.

Yarra Yarra (Can't find it, anyone have a suggestion?)
Bouindarra = Bundarra (Bouindarra doesn't exist but Bundarra out in the sticks does, so I've used that).
River Murray (Could be anywhere)
Dulverton (Can't get it into the map at the moment).

South Australia is completely empty. Maybe there was nothing interesting to visit there
NT is also a little sparse. Anyone help with a verse for there?

If someone can make a good rhyme for SA or / and NT, we can add it to the verses we have and I think we're nearly ready for the next stage of planning.

OK, I'll leave it in the same bucket as the Murray. Maybe anywhere along it that people feel suits.

GCA Power Trail Proposal Feedback

Post by pjmpjm » 02 September 11 10:14 am

caughtatwork wrote:The slight difference between the standard PT and this one would be they are all hidden by different people, so maintenance wouldn't be the same issue and they're not likely to be 161m from each other =D> There could be 200 caches covering 4,000km of trail. So as you say, a series more than a true PT.
I think this sounds much more appealing that the standard power trail. Would be happy to try to participate.

I would but that's too long for the new wonder GPS units and their name display.
It needs to be something like Lismore IBEM v1l3.

We just need a couple more versus and we might be ready to kick this thing off.

There are some areas of Australia seriously in need of caches. I just spent an hour finding ALL of the active caches in the city of Mount Isa (that's a total of four), including one brand new cache which I got FTF for, then spent 3 hours finding the other three caches between 10 and 50 Km from Mount Isa, including another brand new one which I also got FTF for. I've now covered from Mount Isa to Longreach, missed a couple of B&W virtuals and a Trad because of a gpsr glitch, and passing through Winton noticed the only cache in the town was still active, but I found it last year. I'm saving the only cache in Longreach for tomorrow.

I was tempted to place a series of virtuals along the Landsborough Highway, but knowing how rarely my Stuart Highway ones are visited, with 50 times the average traffic load of the Landsborough, I resisted the impulse.

Well Moree (which is in the song) has only one GC cache (and three trigs). Have rels there but haven't got much of a reason to visit. :P

Not too far for me to travel to put one out in Mullumbimby.
Can probably manage a Bangalow one too.

There is also a Gingin in WA (refer Verse 1) so it's not entirely true that WA is excluded.
Mind you, if you really want to get into the WA swing you need a verse with "up" as the rhyme. "up" is water in traditional dialect so much of the lower parts of WA end in "up".
Not so many further north for obvious reasons!
