Ready to go! =D> \:D/

Actually this photo was taken a couple of days ago as the new caravan arrived at its new home.

Our little unit doesn't have a lot of parking space!
The carport is shared with the neighbors which fortunately we dont have any of at the moment so I can sprawl!

I'm curious why committee didn't use something like Paypal to process the payments, it would have saved alot of manual handling of data.
I admit there is a cost but so is the labour effort

Further updates of the mega event:
We will take some more reserves on the powered sites list as they have been moving up into positions. A green tick confirms payment of your numbered position within the "camping section" on the website.
Registrations are flowing in and the next round of teams have been placed on the "registration section". All teams are listed in team names, state and numbers attending.
Groundspeak has created the official "souvenir " for the event. This will be awarded to all teams after the event ,when your "attended" log is posted. If you are not sure what this is, take a look at your profile page, as you might not be aware you even have them already.
The first two face painted geocaching logo's are posted on the stallholders section. Next update will feature Geocaching NSW and Geocaching Australia pictures.
The recent <sponsor removed> magazine featured a mega update story with pictures including the front cover. Great advertising to the 1,000 subscribers. The front cover is on the stallholders page.
A promotional item from the mega event is being shown at many events. The first was the Wolli Creek valley walk event last Saturday in Sydney, next was Mrs Walenators birthday event in Melbourne yesterday ,and next is JABS meet and greet event near Hobart, Wednesday with more events to follow.
Our next stallholder to attend the OZ MEGA is <sponsor removed>.They will have one coffee van over the 5 days serving in the meals area for breakfast, lunch and dinners. They will have a second coffee van permanently situated in the entertainment area and move staff over to there ,once dinners have finished, for the 4 nights.

We welcome our next $2,000 Gold Sponsor in <sponsor removed> of Albury to the event. Promotional items will be placed into all registration packs as well.
Thankfully,
Greg,
President.

All sponsors names have been redacted with <sponsor removed>.
The Oz Mega Committee account has been advised.

Geocaching Australia is a non-advertising entity. We do not want sponsor names listed in the forums. The Oz Mega Committee is free to link to the Oz Mega Home Page but not directly to the sponsors page.

If we want ads and sponsors we will get them to pay us directly.

Please understand this is not directed at the Oz Mega specifically.

Where we see advertising, however subtle, in any thread, with the stated exceptions in the Buy & Sell and Trackables forums we will redact it.

Thanks for your understanding.

If anyone in NSW can't get to an event I am likely to be at, and would like to donate some pathtags to this cause - feel free to use the Geocaching NSW PO Box. The address is PO Box 173, Ermington NSW 2115. That way they will be nice and secure until the mail is checked if I am away.

Re the pathtag auction

Is there a paticular reason this is an auction and not perhaps say, a raffle?

My question relates to the cost for those far and wide to travel to/from the event costs whist there etc. wouldn't it be lovely if everyone could participate to have a chance to win via raffle rather than limit the opportunity to those that can pay esp when $$$ are tight.

The end result may tbe the same /possible more $$$ raised + obviouly a happy cacher with a new loot of pathtags to log

Any hoo

Just a thought :-"

I will place this idea on the agenda to discuss with the Committee. Thanks for the suggestion. We are still streamlining all the aspects of the pathtag idea , so plenty of time to adjust items here and there.

Ahhhhh bugger, word from Zazz is that due to a worldwide rediculous increase in the price of magnets, its unlikely that LED throwies will be available from them before the Mega event, so my plans for buying a few hundred dollars worth to give out to the kids, like I did at the last Mega, seem to have come to nought.
Apologies to those who have kids who might have been looking forward to this.

Looks like its time to become a magnet magnate.
