I picked up some waterproof over pants from Kathmandu today and I can't decide if I put them on over or under my gaiters....

Anyone know?

Over.

Otherwise any rain will drip down your pants, pass under your gaiters, and eventually run into your boots.

Also, when it starts to rain are you going to waste time taking your gaiters off, or just quickly put your pants over the top.

Snow, rain, mud, I always wear my rainpants under my gaiters. I then pull my gaiters tight to get a good seal around my calves.

+1 for under.

Although, it depends on where you're walking - if I'm wandering through scrub, I'd much prefer my gaiters to be taking the bashing from the sharp prickly bits rather than my pants. If I'm wandering along a nicely graded track with lots of side space, I'd probably not bother with the gaiters at all (so, a moot point), but then, my pants give a good seal around the ankles.

FWIW.

Or, as a cunning plan M'Lord, why not wear one over and one under - then both sides are happy???

outside. But it didn't make a difference. The vegetation was so dense and wet that I was soaked anyway. The pants stood up very well to scrub though.

I'd be more worried about the location of your jocks. If you wear them on the outside, you'll have less washing and attract female reporters.

Not so. Number of geocaches found while wearing jocks on the outside: 1
Number of female reporters attracted: 0

This might be a good thing or a bad one, depending on your piont of view...

Edit: link fixed (I think)

When I went to this link I got
System.FormatException: Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). at System.Guid.GuidResult.SetFailure(ParseFailureKind failure, String failureMessageID, Object failureMessageFormatArgument, String failureArgumentName, Exception innerException) at System.Guid.TryParseGuidWithDashes(String guidString, GuidResult& result) at System.Guid.TryParseGuid(String g, GuidStyles flags, GuidResult& result) at System.Guid..ctor(String g) at Geocaching.UI.LogBookPanel.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)

Is that what is supposed to happen? I was ready for a laugh at someone with the underpants on the outside!

Updating to Number of geocaches found while wearing jocks on the outside: 2

Maybe it's an ACT thing?
