Caching Bag & contents

Over time I've gone from having two bags (day pack & overnighter) to one bag to carry all my caching gear. I purchased an Irwin canvas builders bag which has 60 compartments.

The contents are numerous & allow me just to pick it up & be off. Decided to have a close look at what's in there & list it here for comparison.

My bag's contents: Canvas gloves, inverter, GPSr, GPSr manual, camera, dual 12V power supply plug, RAM mount, first aid kit, bag containing cable, mount for Nuvi, Nuvi, 6 sets of rechargeable batteries, battery recharger, gel packs, stickers, spare logbooks, plastic bags, pens, swaps, small sistema, spectacle lens cleaner, sunscreen, bushmans 80%, anti chaffing cream, baby powder, fly veil, sock protectors, magnifying glass, USB cable, camera cable, snacks, list of locationless caches I've yet to find, toot paper, tissues, small LED torch, leatherman, PLB, compass, topo maps.

So what do you carry your caching gear in & what are the contents?

The Germans have a picture-thread for this one - quite entertaining what people do carry around:

Hi Phillip. What is a Prickstock? I can see one in several of the photos, and it is labelled in one of them.

I have a selection of long sticks in my boot and take one whenever I go bush for caching as I am usually on my own. The stick acts as a support while walking up hills and doubles as a snake scarer and allows me to poke around in places 8-[ I wouldn't want to put my hands in first. To make it an even more attractive option to a prickstock my bush stick is free and if I happen to leave it behind or break it the replacement cost is minimal. I am constantly on the lookout  for new updated models with better options and have traded up a number of times already.

Yikes - I wouldn't want to have a run-in with the police while carrying one of these.... It just reeks too much of 'concealed weapon' for me!

Two things you need in Sydney if you do more than drive-bys: salt (for leeches) and tweezers (for ticks).
Spare fully charged batteries (two sets) are indispensable anywhere of course!

I cant even make out what half the stuff is in that picture mr router. All i can say is it's definitely not necessary for my caching adventures. I change the contents of my backpack for every search depending on terrain, difficulty etc. My most common gear is as follows: gps (obviously), mobile phone, a pen and pencil, spare notebook, pocket knife, camera and water. Most of the time a pack is not even necessary. I only start carrying first aid if im expecting the hike to be more than an hour or where there is no trail close to humanity.

A decent tablespoon of cement in the mouth works a treat for those as well.
