The competition seems to lack appeal for some, and perhaps it might be a case of too busy rushing looking for answers and not see the beauty of the locations.

So my suggestion is that people are offered a bunch of scenic drives instead of the competition. There are some many locations to see - remote bush huts if you want a 4WD trip, old gold mining relics in Adelong, the old railway stations at Gundagai, Yass and Tumut (all with caches \:D/ ), the Sugar Pine Walk near Laurel Hill, the memorial to the Southern Cloud, Paddys River, the trestle bridge (still drying out I suppose), the dam at Blowering and the Talbingo village and power station. Brumbies grazing outside the Laurel Hill complex, which is very scenic and quite different to the open camping area at Wagga. There could be shorter easy drives for those who want to sit around and talk, longer drives for those who want to get about. Not super rich in caches but I'm sure that locals will get on board and place some more.

I can see what the committee is trying to do here - a lovely area to showcase, and although it looks close to Wagga if you are driving from interstate, the scenery and feel is quite different. This is the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, not the plains of the Riverina.
As someone from interstate and not interested in competition i would really love this idea as, what i have been able to look at on the net it looks like a fascinating area

Regards
Mr.Coffee and the "we should add a tour of a coffee bean farm to the event" Coffee Clan.
Bring on the coffee bean farm, Mr C! (is there one down that way?)

The last one was great, and I have plenty of time to convince the rest of the family,
so 4 or 5 probably attending if all goes well.

(not a C&W fan at all,
like the idea of having a choice between the comp or a WP tour - maybe just a simple observation-trial type set of answers that do not require chasing and searching to give the tour a comp edge as well )

Count us in.

2 adults - Geraldton WA

- home 2 weeks (from the last Mega) and we are counting down to another Mega =D> =D> \:D/ \:D/ cant wait!

we have started researching alternate dog friendly sites for our caravan at Tumburumba. It appears there is only one caravan park there and it would need to be booked well in advance to get a spot. If others have any ideas we may have to start another thread so that those of us who caravan/camp with our furry friends can pool ideas :)

Don't think I've actually put my formal intention in yet...most likely 2 adults from Newcastle region.

Well I'm glad you didn't make me keep this event secret for too long Greg, but I did think it would be a bit longer. :-)
2 adults and one child from act but could be any where by 2012.

Regards our phone chat, I've looked at the area but will be unable to carry out what you wish. Sorry
Will call when I get back to civilization. (can't email either)

Enjoyed the last and keen for the next MEGA.

Can't believe I've taken so long to get on board.
This sounds like another great Mega, WW was fabulous, and although this one is themed a little differently, I'm sure this will be just as good.
Congrats to the committee for all the work so far.
To Winglen, fantastic to see a positive response, I can't wait to get there now, you've painted a terrific picture in my mind.
